I realize that I have had this blog for four days and have only published one post. I've been waiting for something cool to happen to me so I could blog about it... that just has not happened. So, I'm reverting to writing about something completely stupid. Hopefully, for all of our sakes, something cool will happen soon.
For now, my story is simply about black garbage bags. My sister and I are roommates at WKU, and for some reason we don't have trash bags for our garbage cans. Who wants to go out and buy trash bags? I don't. When we first got to college someone had given me some pink trash bags that smelled like roses (cool right? I know!) However, those were gone after a while and we've been using Wal-mart bags. Recycling is the bomb, but HELLO, the garbage cans are too big and the handles of the Wal-mart bags break off.
I recently realized (halfway through my second semester living in this dorm) that the front desk will give me a trash bag, as many as I want actually. So that rocks the world. Today I asked for three trash bags (that's not the important part of the story, in case you're wondering). The crazy thing is, the desk girl says "what room?" I tell her, "Room 209." So, She pulls out a sparkly silver sharpie and writes "209" on each of the trash bags. I don't understand the logic behind this... all I know is, nobody is going to be able to see the sparkly numbers when I put the black bag in the can... or when I take it to the garbage compactor later. So sad.. I guess she just feels the need to name the trash bags before they are used, compacted, and decomposed. Whatever. ;)

Mission Statement - so the world knows
Hello followers! As an eighteen-year-old girl with an abundance of stories to tell, I simply need a bottomless pit into which I can pour out my embarrassing, emotional, and sometimes hilarious stories to people who need a good laugh, cry, or who have nothing better to do than stare at a computer screen (any of those are completely good pass-times and I promise I am not judging anyone for staring at a computer for hours). This blog is an attempt to inspire optimism and spread a little Joy to anyone who stumbles upon it. I hope I can keep this up, and I hope you enjoy reading!
