I must say, THIS IS STINKING AWESOME!
I've always wondered what to do with all the random neckties that are at goodwill!
Nobody is actually going to buy them and wear them around their neck,
So why not buy them on the first Saturday of the month (the 50% off sale) and turn them into these awesome pocket wristlets??!

I don't see why not.
So family, don't be surprised if you get one of these for Christmas.

Blessing Bags

I just feel the need to say, "Oh my goodness... why did I never think about this?"
There is a homeless man that lives in the city where we buy our groceries and do all our shopping. Most of the times I have seen him, he is sitting on the curb by McDonald's.
I notice a few people give him food, but I've always wanted to do something a little different.
This is just a wonderful Idea (in my opinion).

This is basically a bag of blessings. Any homeless or needy person could definitely benefit from having a few extra care items. I would love to have a few of these on hand in my vehicle (if I had one of my own) just in case I ever saw a homeless person. I could hand them one of these bags, with a note or a track about the Love of Jesus, a church card, and my pastors phone number. Just to show them the love of God and help them in their time of need.

Everyone needs a little blessing every now and then. <3
It's been a while since my last post,
my blog is obviously not what matters the most.

I've simply been busy,
but now it is time
to pick this back up,
starting first with this rhyme.

Bahahahaha.... I'm no poet, but I sure can lay down a rhyme every now and then. But for real, I'm gonna give this blog thing one more shot. If I fail to post for a few more months, who really cares? This blog isn't what makes the world go round. That glory goes to Jesus, can I get a "what what?!?!"
Oh yeah baby. It's time to blog.

Stormy Weather

Date: April 4, 2011 (yesterday)
Weather Forecast: Thunderstorms at 12:00pm
Actual weather: TORNADO'S AT 12:45

So, yeah obviously there were storms yesterday. I made it to my 12:40 class and 15 minutes into class there was a tornado warning. So they made us all go to the lower level of the building.. lots of people left. At that point it wasn't even raining.. I should have left as well.
However, I decided to wait to leave until it was raining. But, come on! I wasn't gonna stick around all day and wait for the rain to stop!
So, I decided to face the storm and make a dash for my dorm. I left the building and was walking across the street. I stepped into a puddle and the navy blue flip flop on my right foot got sucked off my foot into the current. I turned around to try and get it back. When I turned, my umbrella caught wind and flipped inside out!!! I LOST MY SHOE!!! Then, I took another step and LOST MY OTHER SHOE!!! It was so crazy!!!! My shoes rushed away at 60 miles an hour down Campbell lane... So I walked back to the dorm without shoes.
The good point of this story: Hopefully someone needed those shoes :) I hope God sends them to someone in need

Black Garbage Bags

I realize that I have had this blog for four days and have only published one post. I've been waiting for something cool to happen to me so I could blog about it... that just has not happened. So, I'm reverting to writing about something completely stupid. Hopefully, for all of our sakes, something cool will happen soon.
For now, my story is simply about black garbage bags. My sister and I are roommates at WKU, and for some reason we don't have trash bags for our garbage cans. Who wants to go out and buy trash bags? I don't. When we first got to college someone had given me some pink trash bags that smelled like roses (cool right? I know!) However, those were gone after a while and we've been using Wal-mart bags. Recycling is the bomb, but HELLO, the garbage cans are too big and the handles of the Wal-mart bags break off.
I recently realized (halfway through my second semester living in this dorm) that the front desk will give me a trash bag, as many as I want actually. So that rocks the world. Today I asked for three trash bags (that's not the important part of the story, in case you're wondering). The crazy thing is, the desk girl says "what room?" I tell her, "Room 209." So, She pulls out a sparkly silver sharpie and writes "209" on each of the trash bags. I don't understand the logic behind this... all I know is, nobody is going to be able to see the sparkly numbers when I put the black bag in the can... or when I take it to the garbage compactor later. So sad.. I guess she just feels the need to name the trash bags before they are used, compacted, and decomposed. Whatever. ;)

Mission Statement - so the world knows

Hello followers! As an eighteen-year-old girl with an abundance of stories to tell, I simply need a bottomless pit into which I can pour out my embarrassing, emotional, and sometimes hilarious stories to people who need a good laugh, cry, or who have nothing better to do than stare at a computer screen (any of those are completely good pass-times and I promise I am not judging anyone for staring at a computer for hours). This blog is an attempt to inspire optimism and spread a little Joy to anyone who stumbles upon it. I hope I can keep this up, and I hope you enjoy reading!
